It's been a busy time of entertainment for holiday parties, with lots of travel, laughs and memorable events.
Most recently, I was in Kohler, Wisconsin, entertaining once again this year for the Kohler Company with my unique and fun approach to Handwriting Analysis. I was quite busy with a great group of amazing people, and nearly out of a voice at the end of the night!
The weather hasn't been the greatest ally this year, as I had to unfortunately cancel one event, and reschedule a few others, no thanks to ice and heavy snow!
Of course, the whirlwind touring isn't over yet, as I head down to Iowa for another event in a couple of weeks, with some parties in between.
Then it will be time for a very full season of post-prom and graduation parties.
After the Kohler event, once person asked me if I was tired. I love what I do, and, although it certainly is work, it is work that I enjoy doing every time!
The calendar keeps building up, so if you're trying to get me scheduled for a future event, contact me, and we'll see what we can do for you.
Have a great day!
While I'm still busily booking Halloween parties (ranging from house parties to corporate mixers), the Holiday and Christmas Party season is already in full swing!
While there are videos already on the site from various shows, as well as videos on my YouTube channel, I still get questions about what a show is like, and how much it costs.
Cost. Let's get the big question out of the way first: Cost. It is best to figure $10-$20 per person for a general idea of the cost of a show. However, that's not a rigid rule. I will try my best to work within your budget constraints without going so low that I can't really make a living (this is my full-time job, after all!).
There are two things I'm known for: group mindreading and wide-awake suggestion.
Group Mindreading. Unlike most "mentalists", I use practically no stage props or paraphernalia. I use my experience as a comedian to engage the group, and then proceed to read minds. The high point of my mindreading show is the Great Group Mindreading Experience: I will sit in a chair facing the audience with just a pad and pen jotting down notes as I feel thoughts coming to me. I will call out a person’s initials and once verified, I will state their full name and a few details about them. I might relate numbers that people are merely thinking of and the names of other family members or the name of a pet.
Then there is Wide-Awake Suggestion: rarely seen anywhere in the world. While I might "put people under" at a hypnosis show, I conclude my regular mindreading shows by having volunteers wide awake, and they still forget their name, get stuck to their chair, and even see invisible pets! Audience members are literally doubled over, laughing so much!
I'll tell you a secret: for some audiences, I will showcase a very strange skill. It stems from a childhood game called “Hot & Cold” where children hide an object and a player tries to find it by asking if they are hot or cold while searching for it. I developed a particular skill for this as a child, to the point where no one said anything at all, and I STILL found the object! Now as a professional performer, I sometimes have an object hidden by an audience member beforehand, and then use that skill to find it.
Curious? Contact me for more information, because the calendar really is filling up fast!
It's been a busy month and beyond, with corporate events and private parties. As soon as I get home, I'm already getting ready to go to the next events, whether in Minnesota, Wisconsin, or beyond!
The picture to the left is from one of the corporate events. Why the blindfold? Well, I'm trying to find something that's been hidden, and I'm happy to report that I was successful! There were lots of laughs at that show, especially when it got to the Great Mindreading Experiment of Audience Readings.
I also had the chance to talk with the Tri-State Women's Connection in Iowa recently, especially about the psychology of symbols on ordinary playing cards. I stayed after to sign copies of my new book, "Cards: How Playing Cards Can Reveal Your Inner Thoughts and Desires."
I've already started scheduling Holiday Parties, so time marches on!
Preparing for your Halloween party is a ton of work, and you certainly don’t want your guests yawning the night away! Save yourself from the stress of feeling like you have to push your guests from activity to activity, by preparing a list of activities for your guests to enjoy during your party!
Consider sectioning your house into themed areas. Have a mystical fortune teller’s room, with a coffee table covered with a black cloth. Add a few candles, some old photos, playing cards and a few chairs and there you have it!
You might have the “spooky stories” room, where people can read from some classic (or new) scary stories, or even make up their own. Guests might even compete for a prize at the end of the night for who has the creepiest story!
Another possibility is to have a scavenger hunt, where teams visit each room to collect one “haunted” object. You might give them a list of clues for each team, so that each team gets one particular object, while doing a different activity in each room to get there.
Have an area where your guests can take scary pictures. You might decorate the area with some cardboard gravestones, some blue lighting, and a few spooky cobwebs (I’m sure your imagination can add even more!). Everyone can have a great time posing for spooky pictures in the “graveyard.”
Don’t forget the costume contest! Of course, you can always jazz it up a bit. If singing is the group’s favorite, consider a costume & karaoke contest. You might have other awards for scariest story (see above), most ghoulish couple, or even "most" un-dead zombie.
(Shameless plug!) You might consider some psychic entertainment from Yours Truly, doing card readings, fun fortunes or even doing a Paranormal Party. Interested? Contact me for availability!
I will once again be doing handwriting analysis for entertainment for a major corporation. Mindreading and hypnosis have many aspects, to be sure. When I tell people that I do this, I get some interesting questions.
"Do you know what you're doing?"
Yes, I'm a certified graphologist (handwriting analyst), and I've been doing this for over 25 years.
"Are you talking to dead people?"
No - unless spirit can sign their name!
"Are you doing something occult?"
No, but everything is easier after the goat sacrifice (I'm kidding!)
"What is handwriting analysis?"
It means that I know absolutely nothing about you when I meet you (which is true wherever I go to do shows, workshops, or gallery readings). Yet, when I see your handwriting, I can key-in to personality traits, habits and mindsets about you that I couldn't possibly know! Because it is for entertainment, I keep things light and fun.
"Can you see the future in my handwriting?"
Yes, to a point. I can see what your dominant traits are, and give you a forecast of where you might be headed, based upon that information. Intuition comes into play here also, but handwriting forms the basis.
When I do a full show, I will often incorporate handwriting analysis into a larger piece of intuitive prowess (see the video below), to illustrate just how powerful handwriting analysis can be.
"What other kinds of readings can you do for entertainment?"
I have developed two unique systems for Entertainment Readings in formal event environments: my Poker Personality Portrait (playing cards) and my Lo-Shu Personality Profile System (numbers). They are based on solid and time-tested principles of psychology and personality theory, and have uncanny accuracy. (I have even written books for people to do these themselves, which I make available at events.) These are fun and well-received in formal and informal environments.
Oh...and here's the video of the handwriting at work:
It looks surprising, even shocking to some people, but it's really like falling asleep.
In case you're wondering what it's like to go under hypnosis at my show, I have included a clip below from a recent show at a high school.
Note: In a hypnotherapy session, things are much more slow and gentle, since the goal is very different.
Booking for the Post Prom season is currently in full swing!
These parties are a big deal! As you may already know, the number one High School Entertainment that keeps students fully engaged late night after a long day is a well done Comedy Hypnosis Show.
And I would be honored to do a show for YOUR school!
Every show is clean, clean, clean...and no one is embarrassed or put in compromising situations.
***Regarding cost: I form a price quote based on the budget of the school hiring me. My goal is to entertain, not price-gouge.
If you have more questions about the show, fee, myself, or anything else, I am happy to answer them for you. Just click here to contact me!
Here is a video link to clips from a previous high school show:
It was a blast from the past this weekend, with a double-header of shows that had a very special request for both shows:
I had to play piano and sing!
You see, I used to be a professional musician (I worked in church music as a pianist, organist and choir director/music director for over a decade. I still play for churches here in St Cloud.). The group who hired me knew that, and asked that I play some Christmas music during the dinner, and sing before my usual show.
It was like the old days of vaudeville shows, where there was music, singing, jokes, and the mindreading show itself. We even ended with a Christmas sing-along.
A full evening of entertainment, working with a great audience on both nights!
So...if you want live music, I can certainly provide it with a smile!
I see my schedule of shows, home parties and corporate events. Lots to do.
And it's never "business as usual" for me. It's a lot of work to prepare.
You see, I'm not like all the other entertainers out there, who do the exact same show every time, and only make minor changes. . Every show and party I do is completely customized and unique. Every. Single. One.
Here's a peek inside my mind as I prepare for each of those shows. I ask myself tons of questions. Here are a few:
The answers to those questions (and many more!) will be different for every show. I take those answers and create a presentation that will fit the group like a glove.
This is why I have consistently high marks and glowing reviews whenever I do a show, party, or event. I'm not a slick talker who gives the same wooden nickel to every person who comes along.
I'm a craftsman who takes the time to create something special, just for you.
I give you the best, so that you can be the best.
Let me show you just how amazing, meaningful and fun your event can get!
